Field, who has charmed audiences with her iconic roles in films and TV shows like “Steel Magnolias,” “Forrest Gump,” “Mrs. Doubtfire,” and “Erin Brockovich,” hesitated before admitting her worst on-screen kiss. When a fan posed the question, Field initially looked around, but then decided to reveal the name.

She candidly named her former boyfriend, the late Burt Reynolds, as the culprit of her worst on-screen kiss. Cohen, the show’s host, followed up by asking if they were dating at the time. Field explained that it was during the filming of “Smokey and the Bandit” that she had to “look the other way” because Reynolds “just was not something he really did for you.” She described Reynolds as “drooling” during their shared screen time.

Field and Reynolds met in 1977 while filming “Smokey and the Bandit” and dated for about five years. Reynolds later expressed regret about their relationship in his memoir, “But Enough About Me.”

In a separate interview with Variety, Field explained why she had stopped speaking with Reynolds during the final 30 years of his life. She mentioned that he was not someone she could be around and that he wasn’t good for her in any way. Field shared that Reynolds had somehow reimagined their relationship as more important than it was, but she had no interest in dealing with that.

Despite the challenges in her personal life, Sally Field remains a beloved and respected actress in the industry, receiving high praise for her remarkable work throughout her career.
