Barron Trump has most likely not needed to worry about money a day of his life. The youngest son of President Donald Trump grew up in Trump Tower, where he reportedly had a whole floor to himself. Today, he has begun his college studies at Stern Business School at New York University.
The 19-year-old son of Donald and Melania Trump keeps himself outside the spotlight as much as possible, but was recently spotted outside Trump Tower. It didn’t take long before a new detail about his outfit emerged–a new watch worth tens of thousands of dollars.
Barron Trump has seen a lot in his relatively short life, including witnessing his father become President of the United States not once, but two times. When the prodigal son was born, it took no time at all before he was known to the world.
His father spoke to the media 20 minutes after his birth, calling MSNBC’s long-running radio show “Imus in the Morning,” hosted by Don Imus, to deliver the great news. At the same time, a statement on Melania’s website read that Barron weighed 8 1/2 pounds and was 21 inches long.
“Everyone’s perfect,” Donald, then 59, told Imus. “I continue to stay young, right? I produce children; I stay young.”
The same day, Trump called Live with Regis and Kelly. Two days earlier, Regis Philbin and his wife, Joy, had visited Trump at his Mar-a-Lago estate. Philbin didn’t know at the time, but Trump soon after left to reunite with Melania in New York to be there for the birth of Barron.
Barron Trump’s luxurious childhood
As a young boy, Barron showed he had a very creative side, and Melania encouraged him to explore that side however he wished. He even got to draw on the walls of his own floor at Trump Tower.
“In his space, the décor style of the rest of our home is mixed with what he is into: planes and helicopters,” Melania told Parenting.
“We let him be creative; let his imagination fly and do whatever he wants. Whatever he wants to do with his own room later on, he can do it. Whatever he wants to do with his own room he can do it. He draws on the walls, we can paint it over.”
“When he was smaller, he started drawing on the walls,” she added. “His imagination is growing and important. He draws on the walls in his playroom, we can paint it over. One day he was playing bakery and he wrote ‘Barron’s Bakery’ on the wall with crayons. He is very creative, if you say to a child ‘no, no, no,’ where does the creativity go?”
Melania revealed that Barron’s floor in Trump Tower was fully equipped with a kitchen, a living room, and even housing for the maids. His mother nicknamed him “Little Donald” at a very young age due to his quirky personality.
“He is a very strong-minded, very special, smart boy. He is independent and opinionated and knows exactly what he wants. Sometimes I call him ‘Little Donald,’” Melania said.
Barron moved to the White House after finishing school in New York in 2017. There, his life continued to be every bit as mysterious as before, with the youngster shielded from the media by his mother, particularly with regards to any scrutiny his father had accumulated.
Barron Trump had a crucial role in Donald’s Presidential Election win
It was much the same when the Trumps left Washington after losing the election to Joe Biden, with Barron and his parents settling in Palm Beach. The youngster attended Oxbridge Academy, where he graduated in May last year.
Until his graduation, there had been no new pictures of Barron for quite some time. However, that changed as his father headed into the 2024 Presidential Election in November. Barron suddenly found himself in the spotlight, and the glare hardly waned when he joined his father and mother to celebrate the election win, nor when he was present during Inauguration Day.
Barron was praised for handling himself among world leaders in Washington, and for playing a crucial role in his father’s win. Though it sounds unbelievable, it makes sense. After all, Donald Trump, 78, is not the most technically skilled president in US history, and may have experienced issues in terms of appealing to younger voters.
Speaking with the Daily Mail, Donald revealed how Barron helped him connect with Gen Z voters via influencers and podcasters.
“He is — he knows so much about it. Adin Ross — you know, I mean I do — some people that I wasn’t so familiar with. Different generation. He knows every one of them. And we’ve had tremendous success, as you know,” Trump told the UK news outlet in early September.
“We did three unusual — and I don’t know what you’d call them but it’s a platform — with three people that I don’t know, but three people that Barron knows very well.
“[He] actually calls all of them like friends of his because it’s a different generation.”
Trump continued: “They don’t grow up watching television the same way as we did. They grow up looking at the internet or watching a computer. But Barron knew them.”
Barron Trump told his father he “flapped his gums too much” during Biden debate
When his father introduced him to a cheering crowd on Inauguration Day, Donald asked the crowd if they had heard of his “tall son.”
“He knew the youth vote. You know we won the youth vote by 36 points,” Trump said. “He was saying,’ dad, I got to go out and to this and that one and we did a lot of them. He respects them all, he understood it very well, he said’ dad, you got to go out and do Joe Rogan, all these guys that we did. They were all great, right? Barron, they were all great.”
Barron is young and knows quite well what appeals to his generation. However, the 19-year-old did more than just push influencers and podcasts. The youngest son of Donald Trump also helped his father during the presidential campaign, according to a new book by Axios reporter Alex Isenstadt. The author has revealed how much Barron was involved in his father’s pursuit of a second term at the White House.
In June, Trump’s opponent looked to be Joe Biden, who later decided to step out of the race for the presidency. But Barron gave his father some well-needed advice before one of their debates, according to Isenstadt’s book Revenge: The Inside Story of Trump’s Return to Power.
“Barron, now a teenager, told him he flapped his gums too much last time and needed to let Biden do more of the talking,” Isenstadt wrote, as quoted by the Daily Mail. “Flapping your gums’ is a derogatory, colloquial term for talking too much, too often and without substance.”
The author added: “Trump listened to his son, who was expressing some interest in politics and a willingness to be more public after being shielded from the cameras during the White House years.”
“He has lived through experiences others his age haven’t”
Anyone who has children will know all too well how time flies. One day, they’re toddlers, the next high school graduates. One can only imagine that Donald and Melania feel the same about their son, who is now a college student who celebrated his 19th birthday in mid-March. Exactly how he celebrated the big day is not known.
However, one well-established fact is that much of his childhood, his life at the White House during his father’s first presidential term, his high school days, and private life as a whole have been kept out of the spotlight. While he may have good friends, and might well spend his time doing things that any 19-year-old is apt to, Barron’s life has been nothing like any ordinary child’s.
It’s said that growing up in a relatively “closed” environment has affected him a lot. A source told People Magazine that the 19-year-old is “an old soul who is smart, well-spoken and well-read.”
“He has lived through experiences others his age haven’t,” the source said, adding that the European influence from his mother, Melania, and maternal grandparents played a big part in his upbringing.
“He is well-grounded, he has seen a lot and he knows who he is,” the source added, while a Palm Beach source told People Magazine that Barron “has more characteristics of a European than an American.”
“He isn’t as aggressive as many of his age when they are in their own social circles. He is someone who listens before talking, and is super polite,” the source explained.
Barron, of course, has never had any issues concerning money or where his next meal might come from. According to Bloomberg, per Fortune, Donald had a net worth of approximately $4.8 billion in mid-March.
Though pictures denote that Barron doesn’t seem like a person who cares too much about high-fashion brands or wearing expensive suits every day, he can also wear jaw-droppingly expensive items.
Barron Trump sports $50,000 watch
According to the New York Post, Barron was recently spotted arriving at Trump Tower wearing a Rolex—and not any model. The newspaper claimed Barron wore a gold Daytona model of the luxurious watch brand, which can cost about $50,000.
Whether Barron got the watch for his birthday is unknown. However, we can be sure that the teenager most likely received quite nice gifts. Who knows, maybe he even got a second floor at Trump’s New York Midtown skyscraper?
